To
apply, you'll need to:
- Be a high school
graduate or have successfully completed your General Equivalency
Diploma (GED).
- Schedule a
visit to meet with an Admissions Representative and tour the
campus. Students who reside a considerable distance from EBC
may arrange for a home interview in lieu of the initial campus
visit.
- Complete an
application form along with submitting a $25 fee. This fee is
refundable if you cancel your application within 10 days of
submitting the completed form.
- Request that
your high school and any postsecondary institutions that you
have attended forward an official copy of your transcripts to
the Admissions Office. If you have taken the GED, you should
submit a copy of your diploma and test scores.
- Set up an appointment
to take an entrance evaluation (Wonderlic test, if required).
With the exception of students in the Practical Nursing Program, this evaluation is required for all candidates, but it may be
waived for students who submit proof of SAT scores of 850 (1270
for SAT exams taken after March 2005) or above or ACT scores of
20 composite as well as students who hold bachelor's or master's
degrees.
- Some
computer
programs
also require taking a reading comprehension exam and participating
in an interview with the Computer Department Head. The Nurse
Aide Training program requires a criminal background check, a
physical and various medical tests in addition to the Wonderlic
test.
- The Practical Nursing Program requires all candidates to take the NET (Nurse Entrance Test). Contact the Admissions Department for registration information. A $50 application fee is required.
- Prior to final acceptance into a program, it may be necessary for a prospective student to meet with the Department Head of the particular program. The Admissions Department reserves the right to change entrance requirements without prior notice.

Acceptance Policy
A decision of acceptance will be made within two weeks of the entrance evaluation
and completion of all admissions requirements. Students may also be accepted on a conditional
basis (limited to 12 credits the first term) or a provisional basis (for example,
upon acceptance of original transcripts or GED scores).
Transfer Students
Any student with a postsecondary educational background must submit an official
high school transcript or GED diploma as well as a transcript for the college
or institution of higher education that was attended. To transfer credits, a student must have earned a minimum grade of C from an accredited institution.
Credit transferability will be considered based on the compatibility of the given subject with the EBC program. Any applicant with a post-secondary degree (Graduate, Bachelor or Associate) will receive transfer credit for the Skill Development course associated with the given program of study. A maximum of 24 transfer credits may be accepted toward an ASB degree and a maximum
of 12 transfer credits may be accepted toward a diploma program.
Life Experience Credits
Academic credits may be obtained from life experience and/or from previous non-degree
training. Credit will be given only for courses offered at EBC, and evaluations
must occur before beginning a program of study. A maximum of 24 credits from
any combination of college credit transfer, advanced placement, competency exam
or life experience evaluation may be accepted toward an ASB degree. A maximum
of 12 credits from any such combination may be accepted toward a diploma
program.
Advanced Placement
EBC recognizes that students may demonstrate academic ability or proficiency
to meet a course objective. Therefore, tests are available. There is a fee associated
with this option. Arrangements can be made with the Academic Department. Current
professional certifications may be granted life experience credit in lieu of
testing. Credits, but no grade, will be awarded. Advanced placement will be accepted
in accordance with high school articulation and tech-prep agreements.
