Classes at EBC New Castle meet Monday through Thursday. Fridays are Advantage Days; there are no scheduled classes so students may use the free time to do homework, study for exams and complete other projects.
Programs of Study
Under Programs of Study, you can review the various ASB and diploma programs we offer in more detail. Click on a particular program for a description and skills to be learned through the program. EBC New Castle reserves the right to make changes in course content after evaluation by the Academic Department and with the approval of the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS).
Externships: For Practical Experience
Students enrolled in ASB programs take part in internships to gain on-the-job experience in their career fields. It is one of the most important aspects of the educational process for EBC New Castle students, and they receive performance ratings, grades and credit. Students are assigned various types of work and projects that relate to their major fields of study. At the end of the internship, a student's work performance, attendance, attitude and comprehensive ability are evaluated by the student's department head.
Scheduling & Registration
Schedules for all first-term students are prepared by the Director of EBC New Castle. Changes can be made to these schedules during orientation sessions. All other students are required to pre-register on the announced dates each term. The Director is available to assist students in developing their schedules.
Transcripts
An official transcript will be released only upon the written request of the student or other persons authorized to examine the record of the student. An official transcript will bear the seal of the school and the signature of a school official. A transcript issued directly to a student will be marked "Unofficial" and will not be stamped nor signed. A $5.00 fee is charged for an official transcript. To request a transcript, you must complete a transcript request form and submit the form with payment to Erie Business Center. No transcript will be issued to any student who owes monies to the school or has any other outstanding liabilities.
