2009 Business Olympics Winner Announced

The 2009 Erie Business Center South Business Olympics was held on Friday, February 27, 2009 at the campus in the Cascade Galleria in downtown New Castle.  Seventy-six high school seniors participated in one of nine competitive events.  Eight high schools from four counties in Western Pennsylvania were represented.

The day began with breakfast provided by Erie Business Center South.  After a rousing welcome by the EBCS Staff, students moved on to their individual testing sessions.  Due to the large number of participants involved, two testing sessions were held.  Participants not testing took time to register for the assortment of prizes donated by area businesses to be awarded later in the day.  Erie Business Center South staff and faculty were assisted by area high school business instructors in checking the tests.

Pizza Joe’s provided lunch for the students. Mike Glorioso provided entertainment.  Sponsors were Erie Business Center South, Pizza Joe’s, and Josten’s.  The top prize giveaway was a laptop computer donated by Erie Business Center South, which was won by Heather Deems from Wilmington High School.
